So you know how people say to ‘follow your dreams?’

Several years ago, when I was like fifteen, I had a dream that there was a massive party at Bunnings*, and Ibuki Mioda was there. Other stuff happened too like stealing a car but the Bunnings party and Ibuki were like, the main things and this dream was so insanely awesome to me that the details have stuck in my mind for more than three years. One of my top three dreams of all time.

Recently, Peking Duk have announced that they’re going to host a rave at Bunnings because they thought it’d be rlly fun (they’re right). Last night they revealed where and when it’d be and I was really hoping it was somewhere in range so I could go. Not only is it in range, it’s the same Bunnings my cousin works at, so I’m definitely going to go. The thing is, I happen to have an Ibuki Mioda cosplay in the back of my closet from a few years back. I think you understand where this is going.

*(for non Australians/Kiwis, Bunnings is a rlly cool hardware store except there’s a playground and a rlly nice cafe in the centre. The thing about Australian hardware store cafes is that they always have the best things you’ll ever eat for some reason. Sometimes I’ll go into one when I’m in town solely for the reason of eating there. But this is besides the point.)

My wrapped ratted on me for being In A Mood this year - lots of cozy lots of guitar “Old Pine” was number one again - and then sucker punched me with Stacy’s Mom in my top five. TSwift was (unfortunately) my top artist but was sparse in the playlist so we’ll take what we can.

In terms of exploring country I think you specifically might enjoy starting off with some of Orville Peck’s work (imo he’s really interesting in that he doesn’t limit himself vocally which the genre sorta feels inclined to do) and also The Chicks who have been around forever and if you’re not familiar with their history on getting blacklisted during the Bush Administration I highly recommend looking it up. I’m finding the genre’s steering away from the “Ain’t it great to be Murican” we used to know and a little more “Ain’t it great to be alive” sorta feel nowadays - but as always if it ain’t your thing no worries here!

Omg, omg cybertronic Spree is fucking wicked holy shit!. I could definitely see the bots watching this and then deciding they are going to make a band and cover human songs. But I could also see them watching and them having a full-blown fangirl moment. "By primus! Did they make a costume of me !?!?" And they would start sobbing in delight. Ask if they could leave comments asking the band to cover different songs they like.

And woah, TWRP also found out that they and Dan Avidan actually sing a favourite of mine, which is Starlight Brigade. But humans touch sounds very much like it's meant to be five nights at Freddy's song, and it's wicked. But I'll also add a Spotify link of songs I can see the lost light listening to over the speakers. I'd recommend shuffling this playlist
